As a key member of our safety department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well‑being of our employees and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Responsibilities Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility (oversee 3 locations) Develop and implement safety policies and procedures Train and educate employees on safety protocols, safety training on new hires and annual trainings Daily written and verbal communication with managers and supervisors regarding safety Continual evaluations of all warehouse employees, i.e. JSA, spot check, while looking for improvements in safety and efficiency Investigate accidents and near‑misses and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements Minimal travel throughout the year, must go to other locations at least quarterly and in the event of a major issue Requirements 3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices Strong communication and leadership skills Certification in CPR, First Aid, BBP, AED, Fire Extinguisher safety About Us Sugar Steel has been a leader in the steel industry for over 50 years.
