To be considered, candidates must reside within 40 miles of Columbia, SC as this position is ON-SITE 5 days per week.

AAC is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join our client's Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role will serve as a technical leader and trusted resource for network operations, providing advanced expertise in the design, administration, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of a complex statewide network infrastructure. Reporting directly to the NOC Manager, this position requires a highly skilled professional capable of working independently, making critical technical decisions, and implementing solutions with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across multiple technical teams while supporting mission-critical systems. Important: This is a fully onsite position. Remote work is not available.

Work Location & Travel Requirements

• Primary work location: Columbia, SC area
• Candidates must be residents of South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia and willing to relocate within 40 miles of Columbia, SC

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure components
• Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise network environments
• Support and maintain Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Meraki, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix solutions
• Diagnose and resolve complex networking and connectivity issues
• Perform network analysis, architecture design, implementation, and support
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical procedures
• Implement cybersecurity best practices and ensure secure version compliance
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues within a complex voice-integrated infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and support multiple concurrent projects
• Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and informal training to team members as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field OR
• Four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Firewalls
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Routers
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Switches
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN technologies
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Network Administration
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with network monitoring and tracing tools
• 10+ years of experience in core network architecture
• 10+ years of experience with advanced routing, switching, and network troubleshooting
• 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise wireless networks
• 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure environments

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
