Professor of Practice – School of Public Administration Posting Number: req36449 Employment Type: Faculty Faculty Type: Lecturer Hiring Department: School of Public Administration (390A) Academic Location: College of Arts & Sciences Campus: Main – Albuquerque, NM Position Summary The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a 0.5 FTE Professor of Practice in Public Administration (Health Administration) to begin in August 2026. This is a part‑time, non‑tenure‑track appointment. Applicants must have a master’s degree or doctorate in Health Administration, Public Administration, or a related field by the date of application. The faculty member will be expected to teach graduate‑level courses in Health Administration, advise graduate students, and facilitate the practicum requirement (PADM 655). Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and preceptors, overseeing student practicum experiences, and managing the practicum waiver petition process. The faculty member will also contribute to the Performance Academy in support of workforce development and training goals for the State of New Mexico. Qualifications Master’s degree or doctorate in Health Administration, Public Administration, or a related field by the date of application. Evidence of primary specialization in health administration, healthcare leadership, or health services. Demonstrated strength in teaching at the graduate level (preferred). Significant professional experience in health administration, healthcare leadership, or health services delivery (preferred). Experience facilitating applied learning experiences such as internships, practice, or workforce training programs (preferred). Ability to contribute to core areas of the MHA curriculum and programmatic needs (preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of New Mexico health care organizations and systems, including familiarity with or ability to develop relationships with potential practicum sites and partners (preferred).
