Quality Specialist

Automotive Quality Engineer / Quality Manager - Relocation available We are partnering with multiple automotive manufacturers and suppliers across the Midwest and Southern United States to identify experienced Quality Engineers and Quality Managers . These opportunities support a variety of manufacturing environments and product lines, with responsibilities ranging from quality assurance and customer support to leading quality teams and driving plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience within an automotive manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality systems, customer requirements, and problem-solving methodologies. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, processes, and procedures. Support internal manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with customer and industry quality standards. Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities. Utilize quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D. Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams. Support customer launches, engineering changes, and new product introductions. Conduct internal audits and support customer, supplier, and IATF audits. Monitor key quality metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Develop and maintain quality documentation, reports, and performance metrics. For management-level opportunities, provide leadership, mentoring, and development of quality personnel while supporting strategic quality initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field highly preferred. 2+ years of automotive quality experience for engineering roles; management experience preferred for leadership positions. Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment (Tier 1, Tier 2, or OEM preferred). Strong understanding of automotive quality systems and core tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and GD&T. Experience with customer-specific requirements and quality problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis. Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and applicable quality standards. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with quality data analysis software (Minitab, InfinityQS, etc.) is a plus. Lean Six Sigma certification or other quality certifications are a plus.
