Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 15-bed unit, including monitoring, administering medications, and implementing care plans to ensure patient stability and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver primary nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, ensuring their clinical needs are met.
• Monitor telemetry readings and interpret strip data to assess patients’ cardiac status.
• Perform procedures such as fingerstick blood sugar testing and medication administration using Pyxis.
• Maintain accurate documentation via Meditech charting and ensure proper use of medical equipment like BIPAP and cardiac monitors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to other acute care units as assigned.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and nursing standards, including dress code requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Hawaii RN license or apply upon offer acceptance, with licensure secured by start date.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience, preferably in progressive care or telemetry.
• Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac procedures, and general nursing skills.
• Maintain current CPR certification; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Show ability to adapt to floating across various units including Med/Surg, Peds, ICU, and ER.
