Patient Care Tech- Post Surgical Unit PRN

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is hiring a Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary for our Post Surgical Unit! PRN* Patient Care Technician / Unit Secretary – Post Surgical Unit As the Patient Care Technician / Unit Secretary, you will interface with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on phone and in person for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center. Responsibilities Perform clerical duties including distribution of messages. Perform clinical duties under the direction of an RN or LVN, including assisting patients to the restroom, removing IV catheters, etc. Clean rooms as needed. Assist RNs as instructed. Complete any other duties as instructed by supervisor. Qualifications Education High School Diploma, or equivalent Licensure/Certification Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or equivalent BLS required Required Experience Minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting preferred. Previous experience with Electronic Health Records helpful. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good communication and people skills. Excellent clinical skills appropriate for a medical assistant, nursing assistant or patient care tech. Ability to utilize Electronic Health Records for patient documentation.
