Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night shift position requiring 4+ years of acute care experience and telemetry proficiency.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple units: M7 (med surg ortho, urology, neurology, GYN, 30 beds), 6W (cardiology/telemetry, 32 beds), 7E (surgery, 30 beds), and CMS6 (cardio-thoracic, 16 beds)
• Average patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (7p-7:30a)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Most Fridays required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
• Uses Meditech for IVs; Epic experience strongly preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
• Stepdown experience needed for night shift
• Telemetry experience required with ability to independently read telemetry strips
• Must pass on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
• At least 1 recent successful travel contract required
• Psych experience highly preferred
• 5+ years of previous float experience preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units required

Additional Information

• Float pool RN providing coverage across med surg, telemetry, surgical, and cardio-thoracic units
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
• No extended RTO permitted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
