Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool role supporting 15 medical-surgical units, requiring an active MA RN license and Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units in a 600-bed facility
• Specialties include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, vascular)
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RTs manage ventilators while RNs administer nebulizers
• 12-hour rotating shifts including days and nights, with every other weekend required
• Schedule combines 8 and 12 hour shifts across a 4-week rotation
• Assignments to specific units can occur with as little as 2 hours notice
• No on-call requirements
• No set schedule provided, though RTO is honored

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 3 years of related RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
• Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate web-based applications required

Additional Information

• Assigned to the medical-surgical float pool supporting multiple specialty units
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• Holiday coverage required including major winter holidays
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must pass Tele/ECG and medication competency testing
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous employees must have a 6+ month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before returning
• Public transportation is available to the facility location
