Volunteer Board Member

the client is seeking passionate, community-minded professionals to serve as a volunteer board member. This is a board leadership opportunity for individuals who want to apply their skills, experience, and influence to create meaningful opportunities for youth and families. Board service will help guide the strategic direction of a nonprofit organization focused on empowering young people through educational enrichment, arts programming, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement. Board members are expected to contribute their time, expertise, networks, and leadership without financial compensation. The client is actively recruiting talented, diverse, and mission-driven individuals, with particular interest in young professionals, emerging leaders, and experienced professionals who are passionate about youth development and community impact. The client strongly encourages Black professionals and leaders who reflect the communities served to apply, and no prior board experience is required. Applicants should value the potential of young people, be passionate about strengthening communities, bring professional expertise and leadership skills, and remain committed to equity, opportunity, and positive youth outcomes. Key responsibilities include attending and actively participating in quarterly board meetings, helping establish strategic priorities and organizational goals, reviewing and approving key policies and decisions, and supporting ethical and effective governance practices. Board members will also support fundraising and donor engagement by helping identify new funding opportunities and making a personally meaningful annual financial contribution, serve as an ambassador by building relationships and connections that support the organization and advocating for youth and the client’s mission, and participate on at least one board committee or task force and in special projects as needed.
