Senior Manager, Strategic Commercial Finance (Greater Chicago Area)

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Commercial Finance to join a growing consumer products organization. This individual will partner with executive and commercial leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, improve profitability and translate business strategy into clear financial plans and recommendations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of strategic finance, commercial analysis and business partnership experience, with the ability to evaluate growth opportunities, challenge assumptions and translate complex financial information into clear recommendations.

Senior Manager, Strategic Commercial Finance Responsibilities:

• Partner with executive and commercial leadership to evaluate growth priorities, resource allocation and strategic business decisions
• Lead financial modeling, scenario analysis and business-case development for new customers, products, channels, investments and strategic initiatives
• Develop and maintain customer, product and channel P&Ls to evaluate revenue, margin, cost-to-serve and contribution profitability
• Support pricing, revenue growth and commercial investment decisions through financial analysis and actionable recommendations
• Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts and long-range planning while connecting commercial assumptions to financial performance
• Analyze customer and SKU profitability to identify growth opportunities, margin risks and underperforming areas of the business
• Evaluate new business opportunities, contract renewals, distribution opportunities and commercial programs through revenue, margin, cash flow and return-on-investment analysis
• Explain performance against plan, forecast and prior year while identifying underlying drivers, risks and opportunities
• Build executive reporting, KPI dashboards and performance tools that improve financial visibility and decision-making
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Accounting to improve profitability and business performance
• Develop and present clear recommendations that translate complex financial information into practical business decisions
• Improve financial planning and reporting through automation, systems and business intelligence tools

Senior Manager, Strategic Commercial Finance Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field
• 6 or more years of progressive Finance experience
• Experience within CPG, food and beverage, retail, ecommerce or another consumer-focused organization
• Direct experience in Strategic Finance, Commercial Finance, Sales Finance, Sales FP&A or Revenue Growth Management
• Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, business cases, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
• Experience managing customer, product or channel P&Ls and evaluating pricing, profitability and commercial investments
• Strong understanding of revenue drivers, margin analysis, price-volume-mix and return on investment
• Experience partnering directly with executive, Sales and cross-functional leadership
• Previous people-management, mentoring or team-leadership experience
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI, Tableau or another business intelligence platform
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decisions and translate analysis into clear recommendations
• Comfortable operating in a growing environment with evolving priorities and a high level of visibility
