Practice Manager - Brentwood

Job Purpose In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital, managing day‑to‑day operations so the medical team can devote their time to delivering the highest quality veterinary care. Your practice management skills will drive business results, and your people leadership skills will come into play as you develop associates and foster an engaging team environment. Together with a team of knowledgeable pet health‑care experts, you’ll ensure that clients and patients have a positive experience when they visit the hospital. Through a professional relationship with other stakeholders—including the veterinary medical team, field leadership, corporate headquarters and PetSmart® associates (if applicable)—you’ll help optimize the growth of both businesses. Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day hospital operations, allowing the medical team to focus on patient care. Interview, hire, and develop associates while evaluating hospital processes, progress and productivity. Educate associates on Banfield guidelines and practices, and on how to promote Optimum Wellness Plans®, preventive care, pet health needs and hospital services. Budget and plan for the hospital, supporting daily operations and staff needs. Schedule associates, coordinate time off and manage continuing education needs. Collaborate with the Chief of Staff, field leaders, medical leaders and corporate headquarters to advance business growth and operational excellence. Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Required: Three years of related experience (health care, veterinary profession, service industry, etc.) including direct supervisory experience such as hiring and associate development. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; problem‑solving acumen; conflict‑management experience; leadership and analytical know‑how.
