Department 10187 Ultrasound without RNs Pay Range $42.23 - $83.75 PRN Who We Are: The Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology is located within the hospital (SZ campus) and at the Rockville, Maryland Children's National Imaging (CNI) site. The Division offers imaging services for a complete range of pediatric diseases and conditions. Services provided at the main hospital include general radiography, fluoroscopy, special procedures (interventional), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography, ultrasound, computerized axial tomography, bone densitometry, and magnetic resonance imaging. Services provided at Children's National Imaging (Rockville, Maryland) include general radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computerized axial tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. What You'll Do: The Ultrasound Technologist will perform high-quality Diagnostic Ultrasound exams while providing excellent patient care. What You'll Bring: Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED AND Graduate of approved program in Ultrasound Technology Minimum Work Experience: Clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital environment (Required) Certification/License Requirements: ARDMS Registration (Required) Functional Accountabilities: Ultrasound Scanning Demonstrate working knowledge of all diagnostic ultrasound equipment and related components. Produce high quality ultrasound scans via appropriate choice of transducer, scale, focal zones, and gain. Possess excellent knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and ultrasound pathology and document such. Assist radiologists with interventional procedures as directed. Perform all exams in a timely and efficient manner. Quality Control Identify each image with proper and permanent patient data. Follow correct procedures regarding warm-up, use and shut down of equipment. Check paperwork, film jackets and patient charges for accuracy prior to submission and complete RIS assignments immediately following exam. Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment. Patient Care Assure room is prepared & stocked prior to start of exam. Explain exam to patients/parents. Make every attempt to meet scheduled appointment time and accommodate stat or add-on requests. Communicate with patient throughout the exam and release patient/parent with appropriate follow-up info. Cooperative and willing to assist when asked to travel to a CH-affiliated site. Clinical Safety Adhere to all OSHA regulations. Keep acoustic power within acceptable limits. Practice personal radiation safety within the department. Immediately report equipment malfunctions to engineer & complete appropriate paperwork. Safety Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance. Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation. Stop in the face of uncertainty and take time to resolve the situation. Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication. Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co-workers. Compensation and Additional Information The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications.
