Other duties may be assigned.Reviews data to determine material take-off requirements and prepares itemized listsComputes cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectivenessConsults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issuesInterfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimatesSupervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in construction or estimating plus 1 - 3 years of related experience in commercial glazing, commercial construction, residential construction, building facade or architectural aluminum industry; combination of education, certifications and experience may be considered Must be able to read architectural drawings and understand specifications Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Familiarity with Bluebeam and/or Autocad is preferredQuality - conscious, oriented to excellencePhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and is expected to use proper lifting techniques at all times. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision.
