Job Description Senior Structural Engineer with ten to fifteen years of experience is sought for our Orlando, Florida office. This role is challenging and rewarding within a dynamic, progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leaders in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing and business development. The position provides an opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multim discipline office, and to work directly with clients providing consulting services. The ideal candidate has experience designing steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction, utility infrastructure, roadways, and erosion control measures, and coordinating multifaceted projects. Qualifications Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects. Design steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings for new and existing construction. Experience with light gauge steel and timber is a plus. Strong ability to interpret technical drawings. Lead design team efforts. Manage project team for budget and schedule control. Develop fee and qualification-based proposals. Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide well‑coordinated, high‑quality structural drawings. Be able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment. Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities. Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources. Conduct marketing/business development activities. Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale. Ability to travel. Work closely with other Coffman offices, such as Raleigh, Atlanta structural groups. B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE). 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience. Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (e.g., RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, E‑tabs, Enercalc). Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time‑management skills. Project management experience and/or certifications. Desire to lead inter‑disciplinary projects and project teams. Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus. Active local industry involvement is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Salary determined based on qualifications and relevant experience. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
