Speech Language Pathologist (Casual)

UPMC Cole is seeking a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to provide coverage on an as-needed basis for vacation coverage and fluctuations in patient caseloads. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SLP looking for a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

Candidates must possess their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

What You'll Do

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate and treat a variety of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, including:

• Aphasia
• Voice disorders
• Speech and language disorders
• Cognitive-linguistic deficits associated with closed head injuries
• Memory and attention impairments
• Fluency disorders, including stuttering
• Aural rehabilitation
• Augmentative and alternative communication needs
• Oral and pharyngeal stage swallowing disorders

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide skilled speech pathology treatment services to patients across a variety of settings and diagnoses.
• Obtain and document pertinent patient histories, evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes.
• Coordinate evaluations, scheduling, and treatment programs for patients receiving speech therapy services.
• Prepare diagnostic and evaluative reports with recommendations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and departmental initiatives.
• Support organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and the UPMC Code of Conduct.
• Maintain productivity standards while delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and community education opportunities.

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current Pennsylvania SLP License
• CCC-SLP required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire
• Required Pennsylvania clearances (Acts 33, 34, and 73)
