Maintenance Director/Manager /Supervisor

An integral part of our leadership and care team, the Maintenance Director/Manager will keep the building(s), equipment, and utilities in good working order and facility grounds properly maintained to ensure a safe environment optimal for quality patient care. This role is a great combination of both hands-on tasks and department management

Essential Job Functions

1. Possess an understanding of OSHA and Safety regulations.
2. One (1) year supervisory and management experience which may include recruiting staff, coaching, performance management, responsibility of daily department operations.
3. Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies.
4. Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed within budgetary guidelines.
5. Test emergency generator weekly and monthly as required by State and Federal regulations.
6. Know and follow established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
7. Cooperate with and support other department supervisors and employees.
8. Maintain the building in compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes and laws.
9. Lead and attend monthly in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational hour requirements.
10. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to your staff.
11. Interview, and make recommendations for hiring decisions of maintenance staff.
12. Provide training and orientation to new staff within and outside the maintenance department.
13. Attend department supervisor meetings and participate on required committees.
14. Manage budgets and supplies, and fulfill department supervisor responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of day-to-day maintenance and facility physical plant upkeep
• Experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing preferred
• Lead staff and/or provide strong leadership within the facility
• Organized and detailed
• Integrate well with other department leaders, partnering to ensure the highest level of care is delivered
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
• High school diploma
