About the Role:

A well-established, full-service commercial law firm in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a motivated Commercial Lending Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of relevant experience to join its Commercial Lending practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in commercial lending and transactional law to work alongside experienced senior attorneys on sophisticated financing transactions. The successful candidate will gain direct client exposure, handle complex lending matters, and develop long-term client relationships in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent lenders and other clients in a variety of commercial lending transactions, including real estate loans, construction loans, floor plan financings, government-guaranteed loans, and asset-based loans.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial loan agreements and related transactional documents.
• Assist with loan structuring, due diligence, and the preparation of financing documentation.
• Handle transactions involving Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs, including SBA 7(a) and 504 loans.
• Advise clients on loan modifications, workouts, and other lending-related matters.
• Draft and review commercial agreements and other business transaction documents.
• Assist with complex business purchase transactions and related financing arrangements.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical legal guidance on commercial lending and transactional matters.
• Communicate directly with clients to understand their business objectives and develop effective legal solutions.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues to manage transactions efficiently and deliver exceptional client service.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout each transaction.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Maryland.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant commercial lending experience gained at a private law firm.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial lending documents and other transactional agreements.
• Strong understanding of commercial loan transactions, financing structures, and lending documentation.
• Experience with real estate loans, construction loans, asset-based lending, floor plan financing, or SBA-backed loans is preferred.
• Prior experience handling complex business purchase transactions at a private law firm.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and other professionals.
