Manufacturing Accounting Manager (Future Leadership Opportunity)

An established and growing custom manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on accounting professional with a strong manufacturing cost accounting background. Lead day-to-day accounting operations while supporting manufacturing financial processes and preparing for future leadership responsibilities. This position is available immediately as part of a long-term succession planning strategy. The company is expanding its accounting bench strength to ensure long-term continuity and support continued business growth. This is an on-site position within a collaborative manufacturing environment where accounting works closely with operations. The salary is $80,000 - $110,000 plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, 401(k), and paid time off.

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager with extensive manufacturing accounting experience who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and understanding every aspect of the accounting workflow. This is not a corporate accounting position focused on complex journal entries or financial reporting. Instead, we're looking for someone who understands cost accounting, managerial accounting, bookkeeping, and the day-to-day financial operations that keep a manufacturing business running efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform manufacturing cost accounting and analyze product costs.
• Support managerial accounting and financial decision-making.
• Oversee bookkeeping functions, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Maintain inventory accounting and manufacturing cost allocations.
• Work closely with operations to understand production workflows and financial impacts.
• Utilize Epicor ERP for accounting and financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis.
• Develop into a future accounting leader through succession planning.
• Ensure financial accuracy while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong background in cost accounting and managerial accounting.
• Excellent bookkeeping skills with the ability to perform hands-on accounting work.
• Experience in custom manufacturing or fabrication environments strongly preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and inventory accounting.
• High attention to detail with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
• Someone who takes pride in balancing the books and enjoys ensuring every detail is accurate.
