Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate contract opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA with a leading manufacturer and distributor in the automotive and parts manufacturing industry. This high-impact role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who can guide financial operations, support accurate reporting, and contribute to a major SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transition.

The Accounting Manager will work closely with accounting, finance, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, and systems teams in a fast-moving environment where technical accounting knowledge, ERP experience, and leadership skills are highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable SAP S/4HANA conversion experience while supporting a visible business transformation project.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead general accounting activities, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
- Support the SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transition by partnering with accounting, finance, operations, and systems teams.
- Manage, guide, and mentor accounting team members while ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
- Review accounting processes, identify efficiencies, and assist with implementing improvements during the ERP transition.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP standards, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, and corporate teams to resolve accounting issues and support business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: $51.00 to $57.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Costa Mesa, CA.
- Immediate start.
- Initial project is expected to be approximately 10 months, with strong possibility of extension based on transition timelines and team fit.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting support.
- Support a major SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transition across accounting and finance functions.
- Manage accounting team performance, deadlines, controls, and process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, and corporate teams.

- 6 to 10 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting or accounting management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- ERP systems experience, with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA exposure strongly relevant to this role.
- Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, automotive, parts manufacturing, or a similar operational environment.
- Ability to lead accounting staff, coordinate deadlines, review work, and support accurate reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to balance daily accounting needs and project-based ERP transition work.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting an SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, conversion, or optimization project.
- Background in automotive manufacturing, parts manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain-focused environments.
- Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, workflows, and close procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment with changing priorities and cross-functional stakeholders.
