Role Overview
Develop advanced CNC toolpaths and practical CAM guidance that support the training of next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role applies real-world manufacturing expertise to create precise, high-quality programming outputs and instructional materials. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precision Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM toolpaths for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
- Program complex milling and turning geometries in metals and plastics, accounting for material, tolerance, and machine capabilities.
- Simulate and verify toolpaths, resolving collisions, gouging risks, and inefficient cycle times.
- Configure, refine, and document post-processors for CNC machines, including Haas and Makera equipment.
- Prepare detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and strategy documentation for downstream manufacturing professionals.
- Write clear walkthroughs and instructional guidance on CAM programming techniques and best practices.
- Use first-part results and inspection reports to improve and refine CAM outputs.
- Provide domain expertise that helps AI systems learn, reason, and perform through real-world technical input.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on CAM programming experience, including demonstrated Fusion 360 proficiency.
- Strong multi-axis programming, toolpath strategy, simulation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM principles, and post-processor configuration.
- Experience programming in advanced CNC environments across aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience creating CAM training content, such as courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials, is preferred.
