Role Overview
Apply advanced CAM programming expertise to create high-quality CNC machining outputs and instructional materials that help improve next-generation AI systems through real-world engineering input. This remote contract role focuses on precise, production-ready programming in Autodesk Fusion 360, with no prior AI experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precision CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
- Program complex milling and turning geometries in metals and plastics, accounting for material properties, tolerances, and machine capabilities.
- Simulate and validate toolpaths to prevent collisions and gouging and improve cycle-time efficiency.
- Configure, refine, and document post-processors for CNC machines, including Haas and Makera equipment.
- Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and machining-strategy documentation for manufacturing teams.
- Write clear instructional content, walkthroughs, and technical guidance covering CAM programming methods and best practices.
- Use first-part results and inspection reports to refine CAM programs and outputs.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on CAM programming experience and demonstrated proficiency with Fusion 360 CAM.
- Strong multi-axis programming, toolpath strategy, simulation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM principles, and post-processor configuration.
- Experience programming in advanced CNC environments across aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience creating or delivering CAM training content, such as courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials, is preferred.
