CAM Programmer

Role Overview

Develop advanced CNC toolpaths and practical CAM guidance that helps improve next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world manufacturing expertise. This remote contract role focuses on precision programming, simulation, documentation, and instructional materials. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop precision CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
• Program complex milling and turning geometries for metals and plastics, accounting for material, tolerances, and machine capabilities.
• Simulate and verify toolpaths, resolving collisions, gouging risks, and inefficient cycle times.
• Configure, tune, and document post-processors for CNC machines, including Haas and Makera equipment.
• Create setup sheets, tool lists, and strategy documentation for downstream manufacturing teams.
• Write clear walkthroughs and guidance on CAM programming techniques and best practices.
• Use first-part results and inspection reports to refine CAM outputs.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on CAM programming experience and demonstrated proficiency with Fusion 360 CAM.
• Strong multi-axis programming, toolpath strategy, simulation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• A portfolio or work samples demonstrating multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM principles, and post-processor configuration.
• Experience programming advanced CNC environments across aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience creating CAM training content, such as courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials, is preferred.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $80 to $120 per hour.
