CAM Programmer

Role Overview

Apply advanced CAM programming expertise to create high-quality CNC toolpaths, manufacturing documentation, and instructional guidance that helps train next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role centers on real-world Fusion 360 CAM work across complex machining operations. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop precision Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM toolpaths for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
• Program complex milling and turning geometries in metals and plastics, accounting for material properties, tolerances, and machine capabilities.
• Simulate and validate toolpaths, resolving collision risks, gouging, and inefficient cycle times.
• Configure, refine, and document post-processors for CNC machines, including Haas and Makera equipment.
• Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and machining-strategy documentation for downstream manufacturing professionals.
• Write clear instructional content, walkthroughs, and guidance covering CAM programming techniques and best practices.
• Use first-part results and inspection reports to iterate on and improve CAM outputs.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on CAM programming experience, with demonstrated Fusion 360 proficiency.
• Experience with multi-axis programming, toolpath strategy, and simulation.
• A portfolio or work samples demonstrating multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and post-processor configuration.
• Experience programming advanced CNC environments across aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• CAM training-content experience, such as courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials, is preferred.

Work Terms

• Remote independent-contractor engagement.

Compensation

• $80 to $120 per hour.
