Posting Summary The Labor Education Action Research Network (LEARN) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking an energetic and passionate labor educator to join our teaching staff. We are looking for someone who can lead courses for working adults, union members and leaders, and labor relations professionals. The candidate will be responsible for designing customized curriculum to meet the needs of our clients as well as coordinating and implementing existing educational programs, often in collaboration with other faculty and staff. The position requires teaching expertise using diverse methodologies to effectively relate to a wide variety of learners from various backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of and/or experience working with worker organizations and/or in the labor relations field and a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. Responsibilities Design and deliver customized curricula for working adult audiences, union members, and labor relations professionals. Coordinate and implement existing educational programs in collaboration with faculty and staff. Use diverse instructional methodologies to engage a wide variety of learners. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; at least two years of instructional experience, including relevant program content; strong communication and interpersonal skills. Success will be measured through attendance records, course evaluations, and class member engagement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of classroom management, adult learning principles, and effective communication/facilitation techniques. Prior experience or knowledge of the New Jersey labor movement is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Webex, Zoom, or similar online software to conduct courses.
