ARRT(R)(CI)(VI) Advanced Special Procedures Technologist

Join a dynamic team as a Special Procedures Technologist performing invasive diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role involves operating and ensuring quality assurance of imaging equipment, film processing, and patient monitoring. You will assist as a scrub, float, and imaging technologist, contributing to the smooth daily operations of the Special Procedures section.

• Perform all procedures within the Special Procedures radiology section with competence and efficiency, caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Operate technical equipment skillfully and maintain quality control.
• Serve as a communication link between nursing staff, unit secretaries, and physicians regarding orders, scheduling, and procedure status.
• Assess patients, review charts and lab results, and ensure all prior imaging and safety documentation are complete.
• Prepare patients for procedures, answer questions within your scope, and refer others to the interventionalist.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to radiation safety, contrast administration, and infection control protocols.
• Document patient care accurately and manage procedure billing through computer systems.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with methodologies, equipment, and techniques.
• Foster excellent patient and visitor relations using AIDET communication principles.
• Participate in clinical education for student technologists and quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to departmental performance improvement and patient satisfaction goals.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication within the department.

• ARRT(R) certification is required.
• Cardiovascular Interventional (CV) or Vascular Interventional (VI) registry required; VI registry eligible candidates have two years to obtain certification.
• Licenses: RT(R)(CI)(VI) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
