Summary: The Maintenance & Facilities Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing hands-on and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, facility systems, and building infrastructure. This role supports reliable operation of CNC and manual machine tools, material handling equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, utilities, and facility assets. The position works from drawings, repair manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable production and facility operations.

Duties And Responsibilities:

·Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, CNC and manual machine tools, automation systems, and facility infrastructure.

·Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and uptime.

·Inspect equipment and facility systems to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and operational issues and implement corrective actions.

·Install, repair, replace, align, adjust, and test mechanical and electrical components, including motors, bearings, belts, controls, sensors, valves, wiring, and related equipment.

·Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, instrumentation, and industrial automation equipment.

·Maintain and repair production equipment including machining centers, welding equipment, robotic systems, cranes, hoists, pumps, compressors, and material handling equipment.

·Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

·Utilize diagnostic and testing equipment to evaluate equipment performance, identify failures, and verify repairs.

·Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage within the CMMS system.

·Coordinate maintenance activities with production personnel, contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely and effective completion of work.

·Support equipment installations, machinery relocations, facility improvement projects, and planned shutdown activities.

·Maintain facility systems and building infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, overhead doors, fire protection systems, and general building maintenance.

·Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility systems and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

·Operate forklifts, skid steers, aerial lifts, and other powered industrial equipment safely and in accordance with company policy.

·Maintain maintenance work areas and support overall facility organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards.

·Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

·Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, facility performance, and workplace safety.

·Respond to emergency equipment and facility issues and work overtime as necessary to support business operations.

·Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Required:

·High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical degree or training in industrial maintenance, electronics, electrical technology, automation, or a related field preferred.

·Three (3) to five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferred experience maintaining CNC machine tools, robotic welding systems, overhead cranes and hoists, PLCs, industrial automation, and facility maintenance.

·Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems, including industrial controls and PLC troubleshooting.

·Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

·Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software, maintenance documentation, and computerized work order systems.

·Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.

·Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and test equipment.

·Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels and provide concise updates on safety, downtime, priorities, and technical risk.

·Intermediate computer skills and the ability to use maintenance, procurement, and communication systems effectively.

Physical Demands:

·Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, and reaching.

·Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.

·Ability to safely work from ladders, aerial lifts, platforms, and elevated work areas.

·Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: 

·Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate.

·The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

·While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to power tools, with limited exposure to welding arc light source, oxy-fuel torches, machine operations, including CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines while on the main shop floor. The employee will work in a well-lit, heated indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
