Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Private Duty Nursing

Role Description Kays Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled nursing care to pediatric clients in the home and community setting. The RN will provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and the client's individualized Plan of Care (POC) . The nurse will assess and monitor the child's condition, provide prescribed treatments and medications, respond appropriately to changes in condition, and work closely with families and the healthcare team to ensure safe and consistent care. This position is particularly suited for nurses with experience caring for medically complex children , including children who may require tracheostomy care, ventilator support, enteral feeding, oxygen therapy, seizure management, and other skilled nursing interventions. Key Responsibilities Provide direct skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and the client's Plan of Care. Perform nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations of the child's condition. Administer prescribed medications, treatments, enteral feedings, and other therapies. Provide skilled nursing interventions, including tracheostomy care, ventilator support, G-tube/enteral feeding, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, and seizure precautions, as required by the Plan of Care and within demonstrated competency. Monitor the client's response to medications, treatments, therapies, and medical equipment. Recognize and promptly report significant changes in condition and respond appropriately to urgent or emergencies. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation. Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding medications, treatments, equipment, safety precautions, and the child's ongoing care needs. Maintain infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards in the home. Collaborate with the RN Supervisor, physicians, families, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team. Participate in required training, competency assessments, care coordination, and quality improvement activities. Support continuity of care and transition or discharge planning when appropriate. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience . At least one (1) year of direct pediatric care experience within the past three (3) years . Current CPR/BLS certification . Demonstrated ability to perform pediatric nursing skills required for assigned clients. Strong pediatric assessment and clinical judgment skills. Ability to recognize changes in a child's condition and respond appropriately. Strong communication and family/patient education skills. Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements. Preferred Experience Previous experience providing skilled nursing care to medically complex pediatric patients in a home care, private duty nursing, pediatric hospital, PICU, or similar pediatric setting is strongly preferred. Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: tracheostomy care, ventilator-dependent patients, G-tube/enteral feeding, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, seizure management, and other complex pediatric nursing needs.
