Description

• Assess patients of various age groups, utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting language skills, fluency, voice production, and swallowing.
• Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop unified care approaches.
• Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Conduct occasional inpatient assessments and interventions, ensuring continuous care throughout each patient's recovery journey.
• Ensure proper documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing learning to stay updated with advancements in speech-language pathology through continuing education and peer collaboration.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), with ASHA certification sought after.

Certifications

• License as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
• Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
