Job Title: Powder Coating Production Associate
Job Description

This role supports the production of high-quality fitness equipment by performing all pre- and post-powder-coating activities in line with established quality standards. You will work with metal components and finished parts to help ensure that every product meets or exceeds customer expectations for appearance, durability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-powder-coating activities, including preparing, cleaning, and organizing parts for coating according to established procedures.
• Assist with powder-coating operations, including handling coated parts and supporting the coating process in a production environment.
• Carry out post-powder-coating tasks such as hanging, unloading, inspecting, and organizing finished parts to ensure proper coverage and finish quality.
• Use hand and power tools safely to prepare, adjust, or finish parts as required.
• Read and follow basic blueprints or work instructions to understand part requirements and ensure correct processing.
• Inspect products visually and by touch to identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues, and report concerns promptly.
• Follow established production procedures and work instructions consistently in a team-oriented environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support overall manufacturing workflow.
• Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of ear protection and safe practices around moving equipment and lifting tasks.

• At least 6+ months of general production experience.
• At least 6+ months of general labor experience.
• At least 6+ months of experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
• Mechanically inclined, with the ability to learn and operate basic production equipment.
• Good eye for detail and ability to identify quality issues on coated parts.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow basic blueprints or work instructions.
• Ability to follow established procedures in a team environment.
• Capability to lift up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

• Experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial coating environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with production, coating, sprayer, or industrial manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-based production setting.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and tools.

You will contribute directly to the creation of best-in-class fitness products used in both commercial facilities and home environments. Work Environment

This is a hands-on production role in a manufacturing facility that produces treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical cross-trainers, rowers, and strength and group training equipment. You will work near moving equipment and participate in repetitive tasks such as lifting, reaching, and handling parts. The environment is noisy, and ear protection is required. The role involves frequent lifting up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Standard hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with planned work on Fridays as production needs require. The setting is industrial, with a focus on safety, proper use of tools, and adherence to established procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
