Note: Locals Accepted: Yes; Considered local within 50-75 mile radius, will accept locals at the Lower rate.

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapist (PT) in an Acute Care setting evaluates and treats hospitalized patients with injuries, illnesses, surgeries, or medical conditions to improve mobility, functional independence, and overall recovery. The PT collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe patient care and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' physical function, strength, mobility, balance, and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient goals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, transfer training, gait training, and balance activities.
• Assist patients with bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety precautions, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and case managers.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate post-acute care services.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• CA State PT License
• BLS Certification
• 1 year of Experience as Physical Therapist
