Business Development Associate

Job Summary

A growing telecommunications services company in Riverside, CA is seeking a driven Business Development Associate to support new business growth, outbound prospecting, and active sales opportunities. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, creating pipeline, and developing a long-term career path in business development.

The Business Development Associate will work closely with Business Development Managers, gain hands-on experience with discovery conversations and deal progression, and gradually begin owning smaller sales opportunities. This is a great fit for someone proactive, competitive, coachable, persistent, and comfortable hearing “no” while continuing to move forward.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, including calls, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Support Business Development Managers with active deals, sales processes, follow-up, and opportunity coordination.
- Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings, site visits, and next steps with prospects and internal teams.
- Create, update, and manage opportunities in the CRM with accurate and complete information.
- Assist with proposals, presentations, recap emails, and project-related sales documentation.
- Begin leading discovery conversations and closing smaller deals as skills and capability develop.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Location: Riverside, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Generate and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting.
- Support active sales opportunities from discovery through follow-up and deal progression.
- Manage CRM activity, prospect communication, scheduling, and sales documentation.
- Develop a personal pipeline to support future advancement into a Business Development Manager role.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant sales, business development, sales support, or customer-facing experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage prospects professionally by phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting, follow-up activity, and working toward sales goals.
- Ability to stay organized, manage details, and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Proactive, competitive, coachable, persistent, and motivated by growth opportunities.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to handle rejection professionally.
- Interest in developing sales skills within the telecommunications services industry.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience using CRM systems to manage leads, opportunities, and follow-up activity.
- Prior experience in telecommunications, technology services, B2B sales, or sales support.
- Familiarity with discovery calls, proposal preparation, pipeline management, and appointment setting.
- Experience supporting Business Development Managers, Account Executives, or outside sales teams.
