Full-Stack Software Engineer Intern

By building the “Siri of Protocols,” medics can now get the answers they need instantly, so every patient receives the highest standard of care. We’re looking for a college student who’s passionate about quality engineering and eager to learn how software gets built, tested, and shipped in production. This role will give you hands‑on experience with full‑stack web development. About the Role As an intern, you’ll contribute to a business‑critical web application. The role will start focused on frontend React development and grow into full stack development. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven learning environment. The hours are part‑time during the fall and spring semesters . Responsibilities Frontend Development Make improvements and bug fixes to a large React web application. Work with and improve the application’s design system. Work with a GraphQL API to fetch data for the application. Conduct manual testing and set up automated UI tests. Full‑Stack Development Create API endpoints using NodeJS to support new frontend features. Create unit tests and integration tests for the API. What You’ll Learn How to develop a large web application with a complex data model . How to use GraphQL to fetch data with precision and efficiency. How to design and query a relational database for a complex real‑world application. How to write and organize unit, integration, and UI tests . How professional engineering teams work: creating pull requests, responding to code review, testing your code, and shipping changes safely to production. What We’re Looking For Student actively working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar technical field. Experience building web applications using a framework such as React or Vue. (Coursework and personal projects count!) Familiarity with SQL database queries. Understanding of REST or GraphQL APIs at a conceptual level. Comfort using the command‑line terminal for basic tasks (i.e. navigating directories, running scripts). Interest in developing both web UIs and API servers. Excited about growing into a broader engineering role over time. Excellent written and verbal communication skill. Overtime, if applicable, will be paid according to state and federal regulations. Internship Dates & Hours This internship will begin on September 14, 2026, and conclude on May 21, 2027. The hours are part‑time with core working hours between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. There is potential for the internship to be extended or converted into a full‑time position, depending on company needs, project requirements, and individual performance. Any extension or conversion will be determined by mutual agreement. Hybrid Work Policy To foster a collaborative and flexible work environment, Muru supports a hybrid work policy. At this time, we work from an office at 200 Broadway in New York City, approximately two times a week. Interns must be located in the New York Metropolitan area with the availability to travel to the office as needed.
