Electrical Cad Technician
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Location: Fort Worth, TX
We are seeking an Electrical Cad Technician to support engineering and design teams on a variety of industrial projects. This position will work closely with detailers, designers, and engineers to prepare and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of drafting experience and previous pipeline or piping-related AutoCAD experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise engineering drawings based on sketches, layouts, redlines, and project requirements.
- Develop and update plot drawings and other project documentation.
- Support drafting and design activities for a variety of engineering projects.
- Utilize AutoCAD and standard drafting/detail programs to produce accurate drawings.
- Follow established company, client, and discipline-specific drafting standards and procedures.
- Coordinate with designers and engineers to incorporate drawing revisions and design changes.
- Research project concerns and assist in identifying practical solutions to design and drafting issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to drafting quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Assist with special projects and other drafting assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Drafting Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of related drafting experience.
- Pipeline or piping-related drafting experience using AutoCAD is required.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, drafting standards, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop within the drafting/design field.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, and other technical team members.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future sponsorship.
