Global Payroll Specialist - Global Reporting and Banking

Job Overview Mercedes Benz Assignment Services Americas (MBASA) is a Shared Service Global Organization in the Americas region for the management of expatriate programs across all entities. MBASA is part of Mercedes‑Benz North America Corporation and the People Solutions Center. The Global Payroll Specialist – Global Reporting and Banking is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and effective presentation of payroll processing information and for all banking activities related to EUROPayout processes. Responsibilities 75% of the role involves monthly operations in the US and Canada. Generate and deliver domestic and global payroll reporting requirements, including end‑to‑end process delivery to stakeholders such as Accounting, Tax, Benefits, Treasury and the Global Payroll Management team. Run reporting corrections and supplemental GL entries as required by various stakeholders. Respond to variance reports and white‑spot tracker queries from EY/Deloitte. Review and approve Canada monthly payrolls and process related tax payment reports and wire approvals. Process payments for Canada provincial obligations and ensure they are approved in the payroll system. Own the banking euro‑currency split for Canada inbound and US payrolls, managing assignee questions, self‑service home payout feature, Dayforce data entry, pay instruction from Deutsche Bank, and resolution of technical issues with DB. Deliver Deutsche Bank statement reports to accounting and generate EUR payout split positions report for EY/Deloitte by month‑end. 25% of the role involves annual processes and on‑demand activities. Calculate and update hypo‑tax and monitor company notifications impacting payroll activities (e.g., garnishments, tax authorities, refund checks). Execute internal controls to ensure data accuracy. Coordinate evidence delivery for the annual Internal Controls System self‑assessment. Support the Payroll Manager with annual processing tasks such as the Phantom Shares Program, annual bonus, and merit increase. Qualifications Experience Minimum 5 years experience in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, or Tax. Experience with US payroll tax regulations. Experience with International Payroll. Experience executing internal controls (preferred). Education Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Master’s) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Tax. Additional Skills Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. High numerical aptitude. Data analytics and interpretation capabilities. Strong sense of urgency and result orientation. Highly organized and detail‑oriented with process discipline. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
