OVERVIEW: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Full-time Sortation Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing the Sortation department. The Sortation department is responsible for organizing all outgoing orders by placing packages into the correct shipping containers to prepare for shipment. You will motivate and provide leadership to team members to ensure day-to-day operations are completed safely, accurately, efficiently and on time. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Motivating and leading team members
• Coordinating employees, including scheduling, hiring and exiting
• Ensuring day-to-day operations are completed
• Communicating with employees and branches
• Organizing shipments into correct containers
• Stacking products in correct locations
• Analyzing staffing needs, reports and projections to optimize output and meet department goals
• Utilizing data to implement changes and identify areas for improvement
• Maintaining the cleanliness/organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• Possess prior leadership or management work experience
• Knowledge of computer operations, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Applications
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Lead and motivate a team of employees
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
• Prior warehouse work experience
