Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and the facilities' infrastructure. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician must have a solid understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as welding. Schedule: Day Shift: 6:30am-6pm Monday–Thursday, 5:30am-6:30pm on Fridays Pay: $23-$30/hour Duties/Responsibilities: Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on all machines and forklifts. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines and forklifts to ensure effective performance. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts. Orders and installs replacement parts for machines and forklifts. Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines and forklifts. Repairs broken machines and forklifts quickly and efficiently. Prepares reports documenting work performed. Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required. Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required. Education and Experience: Forklift maintenance experience preferred Must have previous experience doing mechanical maintenance on industrial machines Must have previous welding experience in an industrial setting. Must have basic experience with shop math and basic ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and other drawings. Previous electrical experience/certification is a plus. High School Diploma/GED & Industrial maintenance schooling preferred. Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work: Lifting up to 50 pounds constantly on your own & up to 100 pounds via team lift frequently during a 10-hour shift. Standing: To remain on one’s feet in an upright position on and off during a 10-hour shift with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Stooping: Bending the body forward and down while bending the spine at the waist 45 degrees or more either over something below waist level or down towards an object on or near the ground. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Vision: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work, and to visually inspect machinery being used.
