Senior Portfolio Accountant, LaSalle Debt Investors

Objective of Role: LaSalle is currently seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant on one of our open end debt funds under LaSalle Debt Investors (LDI). This individual will serve in a lead role to help manage a significant portion of the accounting and reporting process for one or more of our debt portfolios utilizing Fair Value GAAP. This individual will report to the Portfolio Controller and play a critical role in financial analysis, reporting, and process optimization.Accountabilities:Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closesAssist in preparing consolidation files for use in quarterly reportingPrepare and post journal entriesIdentify and lead AI-driven process improvement projects across the accounting and reporting cycle, including automating recurring tasks and building efficiencies in financial statement preparationReview monthly financials and NAV packs provided by accounting administratorCoordinate quarterly and annual reporting requirements, as well as tax requirementsCoordinate with LaSalle Treasury to execute cash transactions (investor subscriptions, investor distributions, invoice payments, quarterly fees etc)Quarterly financial analysis, including review of investment accounting informationCalculate, analyze and report performance returnsRespond to client inquiries with professionalism and accuracyCreate efficiency in and effectiveness of the financial reporting process as well as improve client servicesTake initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutionsAssist with special projects as assignedRequired Qualifications & Experience:Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting CPA designation is strongly preferred - Candidate will be expected to achieve CPA in order to qualify for future progressionMotivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to think creatively and independently develop solutions to problemsEffectiveness in reviewing own work to achieve high levels of accuracyExtremely organized multi-tasker with great attention to detailTeam player who works well independently as well as with othersAbility to work effectively with off-site managers and clientsStrong knowledge of technical accounting conceptsMust be willing to work extra hours, whether early or late, when necessaryStrongly proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of AI tools (either in a work or home context) with a demonstrated interest in applying them in a professional contextOpenness to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technology environment; willingness to evaluate, pilot and champion new AI tools as part of the team’s ongoing process improvement agendaCandidate must be authorized to work in the United StatesWhat LaSalle Offers:A comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' well-being and work-life balance, including the following (all benefits subject to hired employees meeting requirements for eligibility):Health benefits include medical, dental, vision, mental health support and additional ancillary insurance plans.Generous paid time-off, including paid company holidays.
