Portfolio Accountant / Senior Portfolio Accountant

Chicago, IL | River North | On-Site
$85,000 - $100,000 + 20% Bonus

A well-established commercial real estate owner/operator is seeking a Portfolio Accountant or Senior Portfolio Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of retail, office, multifamily, hospitality, restaurant, and mixed-use properties, along with strong long-term growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Perform daily cash management and bank reconciliations
• Complete CAM and real estate tax reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and lender reporting
• Maintain lease and tenant information in Yardi
• Partner with property management, legal, construction, leasing, AP, and AR teams

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• Commercial real estate accounting experience
• Yardi experience
• CAM reconciliation experience
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting
