This is a highly visible, onsite leadership opportunity in the Charlotte/Huntersville, North Carolina area with direct access to executive leadership and broad ownership across the finance function.

The incoming leader will have an extended transition period with an experienced finance leader while gaining knowledge of the organization, its entities, clients, contracts, and financial processes. The opportunity is especially well suited for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also identifying smarter, faster ways to operate.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Take ownership of day-to-day accounting and finance activities across multiple related business entities.
• Manage intercompany transactions, due-to/due-from balances, shared expenses, and appropriate allocation of transactions between entities.
• Perform and oversee bank, credit-card, and operational-system reconciliations involving high transaction volumes and multiple payment methods.
• Support month-end close, general ledger activity, payroll processes, recurring client billing, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks Desktop and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Work with proprietary operational systems and internal technology teams to improve reporting, reconciliation, and billing efficiency.
• Help standardize Excel-based reporting and eliminate unnecessary duplication across finance workflows.
• Identify automation and technology opportunities that improve speed and accuracy without interrupting critical daily operations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality around privately held company financial information and executive matters.
• Build strong working relationships across finance, operations, technology, leadership, and client-facing teams.
• Proactively raise risks, bottlenecks, missed deadlines, and resource needs rather than allowing work to stall.
• Help create a more streamlined finance organization capable of operating effectively with fewer handoffs and clearer accountability.

Do you have the expertise to lead in hands-on multi-entity finance operations?

• Demonstrated experience managing accounting across multiple related legal entities, including intercompany transactions and due-to/due-from accounting.
• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks, ideally QuickBooks Desktop.
• Broad accounting knowledge encompassing general ledger activity, bank reconciliations, month-end close, payroll, financial reporting, and account analysis.
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation discrepancies involving bank accounts, credit cards, vendor payments, and operational systems.
• Experience supporting inventory accounting or inventory-intensive environments is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working directly with owners, senior executives, and highly confidential financial information.
• Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated sense of urgency around close cycles, reconciliations, billing, and cash flow.
• Working knowledge of Excel and the ability to create or standardize practical financial reporting.
• Strong communication, judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to challenge inefficient processes while maintaining productive relationships with long-tenured employees and leadership.
• Comfortable operating in a smaller entrepreneurial organization where leaders remain hands-on.
• Self-directed, accountable, and willing to step into whatever finance work is necessary to keep the business moving.
• Approximately five or more years of relevant experience is preferred, but demonstrated capability and breadth of experience are more important than a specific tenure threshold.
