We are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician at a flavor manufacturer in San Clemente, CA. The company is expanding its QC team. This is a hands-on lab role focused on testing raw materials and finished flavorings to make sure they meet company standards and applicable regulations.
What you will do:
- Sample, test, and approve finished products, including sensory, pH, density, colorimetry, viscosity, gas chromatography, FTIR, moisture, and titrations
- Prepare certificates of analysis and specification sheets
- Investigate non-conforming material and run material hold procedures when needed
- Inspect the production floor to confirm procedures and GMPs are being followed
- Open and close the QC lab, including equipment verification and validation
- Monitor, verify, and validate critical quality control points
- Confirm plant sanitation standards are met
- Work with manufacturing, sales, procurement, R&D, and regulatory teams
- Support continuous improvement in the lab and on the floor
What you need:
- Bachelor of Science, ideally in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or food science
- General lab knowledge, including equipment verification and validation and keeping the lab clean
- Hands-on wet chemistry testing experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Reliable and predictable attendance
Nice to have:
- 1-2 years of QC experience in food manufacturing
- HACCP certification or another food-related certification
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, onsite in San Clemente, CA.
