About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1. Experience in caring for ventilated patients 2. Central line care and management 3. CVA/acute stroke management 4. High flow nasal cannula experience 5. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias 6. Post-cardiac surgery management 7. Post-neurosurgery management 8. Experience in suctioning (ETT, NT) Description: Minimum experience required is 2 years. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. General diagnoses include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT. Block scheduling is not guaranteed. Travel pairs are not accepted, even if one is on another unit. Operating patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2-3. Travelers should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient. The unit consists of 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required. Weekend shifts are every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Travelers are expected to work on major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. Full compliance is required to start on time. Clinical screening will determine clinical fit; passing the clinical screen will lead to a final decision. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Compliance onboarding and document deadlines are mandatory.
