Quality Technician

Quality TechnicianQA Technician is an entry-level Quality Assurance position responsible for receiving inspection, ERP coordination, and foundational inspection activities. This role provides exposure to all QA disciplines and establishes fundamental skills in inspection, documentation, traceability, and quality system compliance within a regulated manufacturing and shipbuilding environment.This is a hands-on position that requires close and effective working relationship with manufacturing, engineering, assembly & test, project management, administration, purchasing and warehousing.Roles and Responsibilities:Receive, review, and verify incoming materials, parts, and components against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements; accurately enter inspection results and related information into the ERP system to support traceability and inventory control.Perform dimensional and mechanical inspections on components, assemblies, and finished products using appropriate inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices; confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, material certifications, and traceability records; ensure documentation is complete, organized, and available to support internal processes, customer requirements, and regulatory or contract compliance.Identify, document, and communicate suspected nonconforming materials, parts, or processes; support containment activities, assist with nonconformance reporting, and work with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to help resolve quality issues.Support internal audits, process checks, and Quality Management System activities by following established procedures, collecting objective evidence, and helping ensure compliance with company, customer, and applicable quality standards.Collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, assembly and test, project management, purchasing, warehousing, and administrative teams; maintain a clean and safe work area, follow company safety and quality procedures, and perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications / Skills / ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDMechanical aptitude preferredAbility to read basic drawings (training provided)Strong attention to detailBasic computer skillsWorking ConditionsManufacturing and shipyard environmentExposure to noise, dust, temperature variationPhysical activity including lifting, standing, climbing, confined spacesBirdon offers a full benefits package including:Health/Dental/VisionEAP/LifeSTD/LTD401(k) with company match (pre- and post-tax options)Vacation/Sick accrual and holiday payTuition reimbursement programEmployee referral programPet InsuranceBirdon is committed to the HEALTH and SAFETY of our workforce and to the ENVIRONMENT we expect this same commitment from all employees.As a Federal Contractor, employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background and drug screening, conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.Birdon America Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
