Position Overview

Under the direction of the SVP of Marketing, and in close collaboration with the different cross-functional teams, the Associate Director, Global Hair Color Marketing serves as the day-to-day category head and is responsible for developing the annual global Hair Color marketing strategy and leading successful execution and results across global Hair Color marketing efforts.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Manage the Hair Color marketing budget and all aspects of the day-to-day creative, operational and strategic process related to all elements of the marketing mix, with final budget and investment approval by the SVP of Marketing.
• Work with Moroccanoil’s Product Development, PR, Purchasing, Design, Sales and Education teams to provide merchandising, promotions, and events to support and grow the salon business.
• Develop the annual global Hair Color marketing strategy and manage and oversee the execution of 12-24 month marketing calendars, go-to-market plans and programs accordingly.
• Continuously evaluate Hair Color positioning, identify opportunities and provide recommendations, including pricing recommendations, to upper management.
• Manage, develop, and provide strategic direction to direct reports.
• Work closely with the International Marketing Managers to assure core Hair Color marketing developments created in New York are globally optimized. Moreover, assure that all respective Marketing departments are continuously updated with developments and strategies for execution.
• Continuously evaluate performance of past and present marketing initiatives in an effort to understand markets, optimize initiatives and conceive new ideas and provide vision.
• The candidate will be required from time to time to present the line to: Retailers/Distributors in the USA and possibly internationally, during internal meetings and trainings
• Any others the Employer may consider essential in ensuring the normal operations of the Employer’s business processes and that falls into the category of expertise of the Employee.

Qualifications

• University degree in Marketing.
• 7+ years of marketing experience in the professional beauty industry; professional hair color and/or hair care experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience developing global marketing strategies and leading go-to-market plans from strategy through execution.
• Proven experience managing and inspiring people and leading a category with accountability for strategy, execution and results.
• Ability to think strategically, operationally and creatively.
• Takes initiatives and problem solver.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Foreign language is a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
