In this role, you will provide high‑quality respiratory care to oncology and complex medical patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting individuals undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, and advanced treatments. You will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene techniques, and non‑invasive and invasive ventilator management. You will conduct and interpret diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, pulse oximetry, spirometry, and bedside pulmonary function testing, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize respiratory status and symptom control. Responsibilities Working within a patient‑centric, evidence‑based environment, you will monitor patients’ responses to therapy, adjust ventilator and treatment parameters per protocol and physician orders, and promptly recognize and respond to clinical deterioration, respiratory emergencies, and rapid response situations. You will assist with airway management, including preparation for intubation, extubation assessments, and tracheostomy care, while adhering rigorously to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards. Documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient education will be completed accurately and timely within the electronic medical record. You will play an active role in educating patients and families about respiratory conditions, equipment use (such as inhalers, nebulizers, and home oxygen), and self‑management strategies that support quality of life during and after cancer treatment.
