Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists, focusing on the restoration of function and mobility for patients.
• Utilize advanced technology for point-of-service documentation to efficiently track patient progress and outcomes.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
• Educate patients and their families on functional exercises, assistive devices, and home care strategies to promote rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and practice standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through in-house continuing education units (CEUs) and in-service programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including elderly clients and individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. A strong emphasis is placed on aiding elderly patients in improving their mobility, strength, and independence through tailored rehabilitation programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited institution. Bachelor's degree candidates are also welcome to apply.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Virginia.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• A strong commitment to providing quality care and improving the lives of patients, particularly within the elderly demographic.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
