Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on patient-centered practices for mothers and newborns.

Key Details:

• Location: City, State
• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery.
• Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using appropriate assessment techniques.
• Assist with various procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as per established protocols.
• Ensure optimal care and education for new parents concerning newborn care, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient needs and ensure safety and well-being.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Must have an active Registered Nurse license in the state.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Labor and Delivery preferred.
• Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
  • NRP
• Skills:
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy
  • Experience with labor and delivery management
  • Ability to perform neonatal assessments and care
  • Knowledge of antepartum and postpartum care procedures

Work Environment:

Our facility is a Magnet-designated, acute care hospital that focuses on high-quality, patient-centric care. The Labor and Delivery unit supports a diverse array of cases, with an average of 7 to 14 deliveries daily. Our team is equipped with state-of-the-art resources and interdisciplinary support, including IV and respiratory teams, to ensure comprehensive care for both mothers and infants.

Additional Information:

• Charting System: Epic
• Floating to like units may be required based on facility needs.
• Patient Population: Adolescents and Adults, with a focus on labor and antepartum care.
