Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients primarily within the geriatric population.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical and Emergency Department setting.
• Assist in the assessment and management of patients, including those with geriatric-specific needs such as dementia and stroke.
• Contribute to patient rehabilitation post-surgery and manage general care for a diverse patient population.
• Work collaboratively within a team of Registered Nurses and support staff, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1.
• Utilize EPIC or equivalent EMR for patient documentation and communication.
• Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing training as required.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state of North Dakota.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Room or critical care setting.
• Comfortable working with geriatric patients and understanding their unique healthcare needs.
• Previous travel nursing experience is not required but is preferred.

Additional Information

• Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirement: Alternating holidays.
• Self-scheduling is allowed, with block scheduling available.
• There is no on-call or standby requirement.
• Orientation will consist of 3 shifts to ensure a thorough understanding of unit protocols.
• Scrubs will be provided, with no specific color requirements.

This position is located in a rural setting, serving a critical access hospital with a capacity of 25 beds, allowing for close-knit care and a supportive work environment.
