About the Role The Mechanical Construction Project Manager is essential for ensuring the project's profitability and overall success. You will engage in all phases, from preparing and reviewing estimates to overseeing construction activities, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule and within budget. Key Responsibilities Initiate project start-up by thoroughly reviewing estimates and facilitating procurement, purchasing, subcontracts, and project schedules. Monitor project control and construction through effective leadership of on-site and office personnel to ensure high-quality outcomes within budget and timetable. Set project objectives and performance standards that align with company policies and operational procedures. Manage the profitability and financial performance of assigned projects. Cultivate strong professional relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Oversee the review and processing of submittals and manage subcontractor proposal requests and scope evaluations. Establish and track field and subcontractor progress schedules. Issue significant purchase orders and review general contractor and owner contracts. Assist in coordinating safety programs and conducting thorough job site safety reviews. Manage all job correspondence efficiently. Identify potential future projects and network internally and externally to explore opportunities. Facilitate project closeouts effectively. Mentor and support the professional development of project engineers on the team. Gather and organize historical project data and lessons learned to enhance productivity and project quality. Reinforce core company values throughout all project work. Manage WBS and work pack operations and ensure tracking of a detailed project schedule (CPM Schedules). Host weekly internal coordination meetings. Establish and oversee the closeout process, including equipment startups, quality assurance/quality control, commissioning, and warranty procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Alternative combinations of mechanical field experience and leadership skills will be considered. Experience At least 5 years of experience in the mechanical construction industry. Prior experience in project management or field leadership roles is preferred. Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction industry practices, processes, and standards. Aptitude to maximize team performance through innovative management techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and persuasion, are essential for building effective relationships. Strong time management and organizational skills. Basic financial acumen to manage project budgets effectively. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; familiarity with project management software is a plus. Robust problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to drive projects to successful completion.
