Newport Meadows & Rehabilitation Center of Christiana, PA is seeking to hire an Assistant Cook to provide nutritious, quality meals to the residents we care for. Job Type: Part Time/Full Time Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shifts available every other weekend required The Company:

- Has prior line-cook experience
- Previously worked in a healthcare setting (preferred, but we will train the right people!)
- Employs great customer service skills and is always willing to go the extra mile
- Possesses good time management and the ability to multi-task
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Prepare meals following planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menu
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- Inspect special diet trays to assure that correct diet is served to residents
- Assist in establishing service production lines to assure that meals are prepared on time
- Assumes responsibility for tray line and serves on tray line as necessary
- Interpret department policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, family members, etc., as needed and appropriate
- Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary
