Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and systems-minded Full Stack Engineer to join our core centralized product engineering division in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified technical builders resident anywhere within the United Kingdom. Operating as our primary full-stack individual contributor, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability over the architecture and build-out of our core customer-facing digital platform. Shifting completely away from routine website maintenance checklists, basic administrative data entry logging, or simple single-page dashboard styling loops, you will run an active web application, secure data pipeline, and multi-tenant systems integration laboratory—collaborating hand-in-hand with our CTO, R&D cells, and core ML engineers. This position requires a product engineering veteran who constructs high-fidelity browser interfaces fluidly natively using React or Next.js frameworks, programs scalable server-side microservices cleanly natively leveraging Node.js backend environments, and commands secure authentication and cloud-native application deployments confidently under GCP topologies.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Platform Architecture: Own the complete full-stack lifecycle design, development, and scaling of Natural Negative’s global customer-facing application, managing the user interface, API endpoints, and underlying data engines cleanly natively utilizing React patterns.
• Translating Customer Intents into Features: Bridge the gap between abstract user requirements and highly responsive, interactive application features, driving intuitive workflows across web interfaces.
• Machine Learning Integration: Partner closely with centralized MLOps and ML engineers to embed complex predictive models and molecular optimization layers seamlessly into the client product interface.
• Secure Access Infrastructure Governance: Architect and enforce strict corporate safety perimeters, implementing robust user authentication gates, granular role-based access control (RBAC), and multi-tenant identity protection mechanisms cleanly natively leveraging Node.js systems.
• Cloud-Native GCP Deployment: Configure, manage, and audit secure web server allocations, container runtimes, and deployment instances inside Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to guarantee high platform availability.
• Database and API Optimization: Design, document, and test low-overhead relational or document database schemas alongside highly performant REST/GraphQL API boundaries to handle complex scientific datasets.
• Foundational Product Strategy Contribution: Participate actively in product-shaping technical alignment sessions alongside the founding group, providing a software-centric perspective to guide technical roadmaps.
• Meticulous Documentation and Testing: Author comprehensive technical runbooks, API specifications, and automated test suits to guarantee reliable platform scaling as user adoption grows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional history running advanced full-stack software engineering operations, web application development, multi-tenant SaaS architecture management, or global tech consulting.
• Expert-tier capability building scalable web layouts, optimizing browser rendering lifecycles, and managing state containers natively utilizing React or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend models.
• Practical operational familiarity designing asynchronous server logic, handling middleware modules, and managing database connections natively using Node.js or equivalent backend systems.
• Proven career history successfully planning, building, and shipping full production-grade digital software applications within a flat, fast-moving team environment.
• Hands-on technical familiarity executing secure token-based user authentication architectures, data encryption routines, and secure application deployments within GCP or identical cloud ecosystems.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and scannable technical communication attributes in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised confidence when presenting code designs or product strategies before executive decision-makers.
• Location Context: Position open to qualified full-stack engineering craftspeople based permanently and resident within the borders of the United Kingdom to operate under a 100% remote work-from-home layout, with optional access to lab and studio workspaces at the Plus X Innovation Hub in Brighton, England.
