Position Details Position Number: 1885 Position Title: Lecturer Appointment Type: Non‑tenure stream, 9‑month appointment with potential for renewal Employment Type: Permanent Location: UNC Greensboro, North Carolina Job Open Date: 05/18/2026 Position Summary This non‑tenure‑track role involves teaching a variety of computer science courses for majors and non‑majors, primarily lower‑level undergraduate classes. Assignments will consider candidate experience and preferences; upper‑level or master’s level classes may be assigned if qualifications permit. Classes are usually scheduled during the day, with occasional evening sections. Responsibilities Design, prepare and deliver engaging instruction in computer science courses, covering introductory and advanced topics. Use a range of programming languages (Java, C++, Prolog, PHP, etc.) and platforms (Windows, Unix/Linux) appropriate to course content. Integrate assessment methods and learning materials to support student success. Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and evaluations. Participate in faculty meetings, course reviews, and departmental initiatives as required. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Teaching experience with undergraduate students preferred; proven ability to teach or tutor in computer science. Strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching a broader range of CS courses, including upper‑level or graduate level. Familiarity with education technology tools and multimedia resources. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
