Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and independence as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This role is designed to cover a maternity leave period, providing essential services within an elementary school setting for the duration of the assignment. You’ll have the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of roughly 60 children across two vibrant school communities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy license in good standing
- Previous experience in school-based settings or with pediatric populations is highly preferred
- Ability to start mid-December 2026 and remain through mid-March 2027 (dates are tentative)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Compassion, adaptability, and strong organizational abilities to deliver quality OT interventions in a dynamic environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine eligibility and need for OT services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting fine motor, sensory, and functional skills aligned with IEP goals
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services within classroom and pull-out formats
- Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Partner with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary staff to support student success in daily school activities
- Effectively manage a caseload of approximately 60 elementary-aged students
This is a full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week), allowing you to focus fully on supporting students during a pivotal period. This assignment offers the rewarding challenge of contributing to two elementary school campuses in a close-knit community.
